MASS COMMUNICATIONS UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP – FULLY FUNDED

The Nautilus Foundation is pleased to offer a fully funded scholarship to assist a Maldivian citizen in pursuing an undergraduate degree in Journalism.

Journalism plays a crucial role in the Maldives by fostering transparency, enhancing public discourse, and supporting democratic processes. Recognising its significance, journalism has been included in the skills shortage list, highlighting the nation's need for trained professionals to lead and innovate in media and communications.

This scholarship covers all essential expenses, including monthly stipends, tuition fees, return flights, medical insurance, and visa processing costs for the selected recipient.

Our foundation is committed to nurturing talent in the field of media and communications, especially supporting those who aspire to excel in journalism.

Criteria

  • The applicant must be a Maldivian citizen.
  • The study programme must be offered by a university in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, the Philippines, Bangladesh, India, or Sri Lanka.
  • The applicant must successfully pass the selection interview.
  • The study programme should not be ongoing or have commenced at the time of the scholarship application.
  • The applicant should not be on paid leave or receiving any other scholarship.
  • The applicant must not have previously received a scholarship from The Nautilus Foundation.
  • The applicant must have obtained a letter confirming university placement and be able to meet the admission requirements of the institution where the scholarship will be undertaken.
  • A minimum score of 7 on the IELTS exam is required.

Required Documents:

  • Copies of National ID Card and Passport
  • Placement letter from the institute
  • Course fee structure
  • Receipts of any payments made to the institute
  • Certified true copies of certificates and transcripts of previous qualifications
  • Work experience letter
  • Letter from the last employer (or notice of termination) confirming the applicant's leave status (paid or unpaid)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) outlining work history, responsibilities, and research experience (if applicable)
